TO FIND:-

profit amount = 180-144 ⇒ ₹36

GIVEN:-

A shopkeeper buys 1 dozen (1 dozen=12) of pen at Rs. 144 ← (C.P.)

He sells them at Rs. 15 each ← (S.P.)

TO FIND:-

the profit amount

SOLUTION:-

cost of 12 (1 dozen) of pen (C.P.) = ₹ 144

∴ cost of 1 pen = \frac{144}{12} ⇒ ₹12

∴ cost of 12 pens that he sold (S.P.) = 12×15 ⇒ ₹180

hence

S.P.>C.P. means profit

profit amount = 180-144 ⇒ ₹36
