Answer:

Rs 500 price per quintal of wheat

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

A shopkeeper buys 20 quintals of wheat

6 quintals sold at 15% profit

8 quintals sold at 20% profit

Disposes of the rest for 25% profit. (6 quintals)

Total gain = Rs 2000

To find :

Price per quintal did he buy the wheat

Solution :

Total gain = Rs 2000

Let,

Cost price of wheat = x

★ 6 quintals at 15% profit :

⇒ 15 / 100 × 6x

⇒ 0.9x

★ 8 quintals at 20% profit :

⇒ 20 / 100 × 8x

⇒ 1.6x

★ 6 quintals at 25% profit :

⇒ 25 / 100 × 6x

⇒ 1.5x

Total gain = Rs 2000

So,

⇒ 0.9x + 1.6x + 1.5x = 2000

⇒ 4x = 2000

⇒ x = 2000 / 4

⇒ x = 500

Therefore,

Rs 500 price per quintal of wheat

Given :-

A shopkeeper buys 20 quintals of wheat.

He sells 6 quintals at 15% profit, 8 quintals

at 20% profit and disposes of the rest for

25% profit. His total gain was 2000. At what

price per quintal did he buy the wheat?

To Find :-

  • Wheat bought at what price / quintal

Solution :-

Total wheat bought :- 20 quintals

He sold

6 quintals at 15 % profit

8 quintals at 20 % profit

And rest 6 quintals at 25 % profit

Let he bought a quintal of wheat for ₹ x.

So, profit gained at :-

6 quintals at 15 % profit

❖ ( 15 × 6x ) / 100

90x / 100

0.9x

8 quintals at 20 % profit

❖ ( 20 × 8x ) / 100

160x / 100

1.6x

6 quintals at 25 % profit

❖ ( 25 × 6x ) / 100

150x / 100

1.5x

The total profit gained is

→ 0.9x + 1.6x + 1.5x = 2000

→ 4x = 2000

→ x = 2000 / 4 = 500

So, the CP of per quintal was ₹ 500
