A shopkeeper buys 300 eggs at rupees 2 each out of it 40 eggs broken and remaining are sold at rupees 2.25each is find the profit or loss percent

cost price of 300 eggs = 300*2=Rs.600
300-40=260
selling price of 260 eggs=260*2.25
                                       =Rs.585
as CP is greater than SP it is a loss
loss=Rs.600 -Rs.585
       =Rs.15

Answer 2

total no. of eggs = 300
c.p of each egg = rs. 2
c.p of 300 eggs = rs. 600

no. of eggs broken = 40
eggs left = 260

s.p of 1 egg = rs. 2.25
s.p of 260 eggs = 585

loss = 600 - 585 = 15

loss % = 15\600 ×100% = 2.5%
