Given:-

A shopkeeper buys 80 articles for ₹ 2,400 and sells them for a profit of 16%.

Find:-

The selling price of one article.

Solution:-

Cost price(C.P)of 80 articles=2400

Cost price(C.P)of 1 article= \dfrac{2400}{80} =30

So,

Cost price(C.P)=₹30

________________

Also,

Profit percentage=16%

Therefore,

 \dfrac{profit}{C.P}×100

16= \dfrac{profit}{30}×100

 \dfrac{16×30}{100}=Profit

 \dfrac{48}{10}=Profit

Therefore,

Profit=4.8

_____________

Now,

Profit=SP-CP

4.8=SP-30

4.8+30=SP

34.8=SP

Therefore,

SP=34.8

Therefore selling price of 1 article is 34.8
