A shopkeeper buys a camera at a discount of 20% from the wholeseller, the printed price of the camera being rupies 1600 and the rate of sale tax is 6%.the shopkeeper sells it to the buyer at the printed price and charges tax at he same rate. find 1.the price at which the camera can be bought. 2.theVAT(VALUE ADDED TAX) paid by the shopkeeper

1. discount =20-6=14%
14%×1600= ₹256
the amount at which camera can be
bought =1600-256=₹1344
2. vat paid by the shopkeeper is=
6%×1600=96
