Answer:

C.P. of the laptop=rs 32000

S.P. of the laptop=rs 30640

C.P. is greater than S.P.

So,there is gain..

Gain=(C.P.)-(S.P.)

=Rs(32000-30640)=Rs1360

Gain%=Gain/C.P.×100=1360/3200×100

Gain%=4.25%

The shopkeeper's gain is Rs. -1360 and the gain per cent is -4.25%

Explanation: Given, that the shopkeeper buys a laptop for 32,000

\therefore Cost Price(CP)=32,000

Also given, that the shopkeeper sells it for 30,640

\therefore Selling Price (SP)=30,640

As CP > SP, the shopkeeper has loss

Loss=CP-SP=32000-30640=1360

Loss Percent = \frac{Loss}{CP}\times 100=\frac{1360}{32000}\times 100=4.25\%

As we know, a loss is the opposite of gain,

\therefore Gain = Rs. -1360

\therefore Gain percent = -4.25%
