Given :- A shopkeeper buys a packet of wafers at ₹120 per packet.

To Find :- packet. At what price should he sell packet to gain 15% .

Solution :-

Method (1) :-

→ CP of packet of wafer = ₹120

→ Gain = 15% of CP = (15 × 120)/100 = ₹18

So,

→ SP = CP + Gain

→ SP = 120 + 18

→ SP = ₹138 (Ans.)

Method (2) :-

→ CP of packet of wafer = ₹120

→ Gain = 15%

So,

→ SP = {CP × (100 + gain %)} / 100

→ SP = {120 × (100 + 15)} / 100

→ SP = (120 × 115)/100

→ SP = ₹138 (Ans.)

Hence, the shopkeeper should sell the packet at ₹138 to gain 15% .
