A shopkeeper buys a shirt for ₹ 1700 and marks it 30% above the C.P.

So, M.P. = ₹ 1700 + (30% of 1700)

= ₹ 1700 + 30/100 × 1700

= ₹ 1700 + 510

= ₹ 2210.

He gives 10 % on it.

So,

Discount = 10% of M.P.

= ₹ (10/100 × 2210)

= ₹ 221

SP = MP - Discount

= ₹ (2210 - 221)

= ₹ 1989

Therefore,

Total profit = ₹ ( 1989 - 1700)

= ₹ 289

Profit % = (289/1700 × 100) %

= 17 %

Hence,

(a) the M.P. is ₹ 2210.

(b) the S.P. is ₹ 1989.

(c) his profit % is 17 %.
