The total profit earned by the shopkeeper is 8%

Cost Price of Article is given as Rs 300

Shopkeeper increases the price by 20%

New price is : (100+20)/100 * 300 =  Rs 360

discount offered by shopkeeper is 10%

The discounted price would be (100-10)/100 * 360 =  Rs 324

Total Discount given = 10/100* 360 = Rs 36

New selling price = Rs 324

Cost price = Rs 300

Profit percentage = (324-300)/ 300 * 100 =  8%
