Answer:

cost of one book will be 45 rupees.

The no. of book purchased for rupees 720 is 16

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

A shopkeeper buys X books for rupees = 720

Total no. of books purchased for 720 = X

Cost of one book = x

Find

1. Cost of one book in terms of X:

that will be (720/X)

2.write down the equation in form of x

then,

    720/(x-5) = 720/x + 2

it will become :

x^{2} -5x-1800= 0

= x^{2} -45x+40x -1800=0=x(x-45)+40(x-45) = 0\\=(x-45)(x+40) = 0\\then, x = 45,-40

hence , this is required answer
