a shopkeeper claims to sell his articles at a discount of 10% but marks his articles by increasing the cost of each by 40%. his gain % is?

let cost price , CP= 100
marked price , MP will be 140
now discount is 10% of 140 =14
so selling price = 126
gain =126 - 100 = 26
gain %=gain/CP ×100
           =26%
