A shopkeeper eams a profit of 2 by selling a new register and incurs a loss of 120 per register of old stock In a particular day he incurs a loss of 4, he sold 10 new registers. How many old registers did he sell on that particular day? hour untill midnight​

•Profit of selling 1 new register

= Rs.2

•Loss on selling 1 old register = Rs.1.20

Solution:-

•Let the old registers sold be x

_______________________

\therefore\small\tt{10×2-1.2x=-4}

\rightarrow\small\tt{20-1.2x=-4}

\rightarrow\small\tt{1.2x= -4-20}

\rightarrow\small\tt{1.2x= -24}

\rightarrow\small\tt{x= 20}
