Profit of 1 pen = Rs 2

Loss of 1 pencil = Rs 1

Total profit earned = Rs 10

Find the profit from 45 pens:

Profit = 45 x 2 = Rs 90

Find the difference in profit:

Difference = 90 - 10 = 80

Find the number of pencil sold:

Number of pencils = 80 x 1 = 80

Answer: 80 pencils were sold.
