A shopkeeper earns 15 per cent profit on a a shirt even after allowing 31 per cent discount on the marked price. If marked price is 1250 rupees then find the cost price

MP = 1250
Discount = 31%
SP = MPx( 100- Discount%)/100
sp =  \frac{1250(100 - 31)}{100}  \\  =  \frac{1250 \times 69}{100}  \\  = 862.50
Now
SP = 862.50
Profit = 15%
CP = SP x 100/(100+ Profit%)
cp \:  =  \frac{862.50 \times 100}{100 + 15}  \\  =  \frac{86250}{115}  \\  = 750
So CP = Rs 750
