A shopkeeper earns a of Rs 1 on selling one pen and suffers a loss of 30 paise on selling one pencil . in a particular month , he incurs a loss of Rs 5 . in that month , he sold 40 pens . how many pencils did he sell in that period? ( tell me in proper solution please please fast )​

Total Profit= no of pens×1 - no of pencils×0.30

for the given month profit = -5(loss)

 - 5 = 40 \times 1 - .30 \times x

.3x = 45

x = 150
