Loss on Selling a ruler = 25 paise = Rs 0.25
Profit on Selling a notebook = Rs 2
Let the total number of rulers he sold be a
Total Loss = a × ( 0.25) - 50 × 2
=> 25 = 0.25 a - 100
=> 0.25 a = 125
=> a = 125 / 0.25
=> a = 12500 / 25
=> a = 500
Number of rulers = 500
