Given that : A shopkeeper earn 5 rupees profit by selling one notebook and in curse 1 rupees by Selling one old pen.

Let, the number of notebook is x that he sold

Now, according to the question :

5x – 75×1 = 185

=> 5x = 185+75

=> 5x = 260

=> x = 52

So, the number of notebooks is 52
