A shopkeeper earns a profit of Rs. 1 by selling one pen and earns a loss of 30 paise on the sale of one pencil. In a particular month, he incurs a loss of Rs. 5. In that month, he sold 40 pens. How many pencils did he sell in that period?​

1 Rs = 100 paise
=100-50=50 Paise.
5 Rs =500 Paise
=50-500= -430
-430+40pens sold (each cost 1 Rs)
-430+40= -390.

Shopkeeper had loss of -390.
