Answer:

A shopkeeper earns a profit of rs 5 by selling one notebook and incurs a loss of rs 1 by selling an old pen. In a particular month the shopkeeper earns a profit of rs 185 . If he sold 75 pens, find the number of the notebook sold .

Step-by-step explanation:

SOLUTION :

amount of profit he gets for the notebook = 5 rps

amount of loss he gets for the old pen = 1 rps

Now, the amount of pens = 75

Amount of profit he gets in a particular month =185 rps

Total amount of note books= ( linear equation)

let x be the amount =x - 75 = 185

x=185+75

x= 260

now we have to divide it by 5

=5\260

=52

there is your answer:)

Answer:

Profit from notebook = ₹5

loss from old pens = ₹1

He sold pens in a month = 75

His profit = ₹185

let x be the number of books

=75-x = 185

=x=185-75=

260

260÷5

= 52
