In a particular week he suffered a loss of rs100 if he sold 30 notebooks then how many pen did he sell?
In the next week he earns neither profit nor does he incur any loss. If he sold 40 notebooks then how many pens did he sell?

LOSS MADE BY SELLING ONE PEN = RS 4
PROFIT MADE BY SELLING 30 NOTEBOOKS = RS 180
LOSS SUFFERED = RS 100
LOSS MADE BY SELLING PENS = 180-100 =RS 80
THEREFORE,NUMBER OF PENS SOLD = 80/4=20 PENS(ANSWER)
NO. OF NOTEBOOKS SOLD IN THE NEXT WEEK = 40
PROFIT MADE = 40*6 = RS 240
IT IS GIVEN THAT NO LOSS OR GAIN HAS BEEN MADE SO,
NO. OF PENS SOLD = 240/4 = 60 PENS(ANSWER)

profit made=Rs30*6=Rs180
loss suffered by selling pens=Rs(180-100)=Rs80

No. of note books sold in the next week=40
profit made=Rs40*6=240
As no profit made nor suffered from loss,so
No.of pens sold are=240/4=60 pens were sold

The required ans is in the first week he sold 20 pens whereas in the next week he sold 60 pens.
