If shopkeeper sell 125 pencils then he loses 125x40=5000 paise i.e Rs.50 and 45 pens gave then 50-45=5 rs he loses in all.

him profit of Rs.45

Therefore total no.of pencils sold by him is 125.

Let A=total pencil sold

40×A-4500=5000

40×A=5000

A=125

Answer:

125

Step-by-step explanation:

Sold 45 pen so profit will be

45rupee

so let pencils sold x

according to ques

45-.4x = -5

50= .4x

x= 50/.4
