A shopkeeper gains $2 on each pen and losses 60 paise on each pencil . he sells 60 pen and some pencil losing $30 in all . how many pencil dose he sell

hey...

suppose he sells x pencil

total gain = rs 60

total loss = rs 60/100x = rs 3/5x

so, 60 - 3/5x = - 30

3/5x = ( 60 + 30 )

3/5x = 90

x = 90 * 5 / 3

x = 150

the shopkeeper sells 150 pencil.......
