Answer:

70 rupees

Step-by-step explanation:

gain by selling 1 pencil = - 50 paise

gain by selling 100 pencils = -(50*100)=-5000 p

=50 rupees

gain by selling 1 pen = 2 rupees

gain by selling 60 pens = 60*2=120 rupees

total money earned = 120 -50= 70 rupees

he had a profit of 2 rs on each pen

and,he had a loss of 50 piase on each pencil

therefore he had a loss of rs.0.5 on each pencil.

Now

cost of pen is 10 rs

No. of pen is 60

he had rs.2 profit on each pen

therefore total profit =2*60=120

and in pencil he had a loss of 0.5

No. of pencil sold =100

therefore total loss=100*0.5

=50rs

hence profit is rs 120 and loss is 50rs

there fore profit> loss

hence he had a profit.
