a shopkeeper gains rs. 2 on each pen and loses 50 paise on each pencil sells 60 pen and pencil how much does he gained or lost. ​

Answer:

no. of pen sells=45

therefore profit = 45×1=45rs.

loss on x pencil = x ×.40=0.40x rs.

a/q. = 0.40x-45rs=5

0.40x = 50rs

x=50/0.40

=125

                   OR

Shopkeeper earns by pen =rs 1

no . of pens =45=45*1 =45

shopkeeper loses by selling pencils =40 paise  

shopkeeper sells =40*5=200

200-45=155÷5 31 are the pencils he sold
