A shopkeeper gains rupees 1 on each pen and loses 40 paise on each pencil

The money he earned by selling 45 pens =Rs 45

Overall The money he got loosed = Rs 5

Therefore, the money he gained/loosed in pencils=x

45+x=-5

x=50

Therefore, he loos the money in pencils = 50

Now ,

50pencils*60/40loss=25*3

=75

Therefore, the number of pencils he sells=75
