\huge\underline\red{HELLO /MATE}Present price of the cycle= Rs 1610.
Increase in the % of the cycle=15%.
Let us take the earlier price be x.
Then increased rate of cycle= 115x/100.
\bold{BUT/ IT /IS/ GIVEN /RS 1610.} SO,
ATQ , 115x /100=Rs1610.
or. x= 1610×100/115 = Rs 1400.
THEREFORE ORIGINAL PRICE WAS RS 1400

Given:

A shopkeeper increases the price of a cycle by 15% the increase new price was rupees 1610

To Find:

what was the original price ?

Solution:

Let the original price of cycle be x

We are given that shopkeeper increases the price of a cycle by 15%

Increased price = x+15\%x=x+0.15x=1.15x

We are given that new price is Rs.1610

So,1.15x=1610

x=\frac{1610}{1.15}

x= 1400

Hence the original price is Rs.1400
