let cp of good is x

then sp

125% of cp is sp

125% of cp=sp

sp=1.25x (cp=x)

Now MP

20% Discount on mp

80% of Mp=1.25x

Mp=1.25x÷80%

Mp=1.25x÷0.80

Mp=1.5625x

His Mp percentage above Cost price is

1.5625x-x=.5625x

Percentage above the cost price is=

.5625x×100/x

56.25%

The answer is 56.25%
