Answer:

Let actual price be a rupees.

Let MRP be m rupees.

So on discounting 20% :

0.8m = a - 20

So on discounting 10% :

0.9m = a + 0.1a = 1.1a

Dividing both equations :

0.8m/0.9a = (a-20)/1.1a

=> 8/9 = (a-20)/1.1a

=> 8.8a = 9a - 180

=> 0.2a = 180

=> a = 900 rupees

So m = (a-20)/0.8

= 880/0.8

= 1100 rupees

Thus MRP is 1100 rupees.
