Answer:

7 : 10

Step-by-step explanation:

A shopkeeper marked his article 60% above the cost price and ratio of discount allowed to profit earned is  4:1. If profit earned is Rs.180 less than discount allowed, then find ratio of selling price to marked price of

the article.

Let say cost Price = Rs C

Marked Price = C + (60/100)C = 1.6C

Let say Discount = 4D  then Profit = D

D = 4D - 180

3D = 180

=> D = 60

Discount = Rs 240   Profit = Rs 60

Selling Price = 1.6C - 240  = C + 60

=> 0.6C = 300

=> C = 500

Cost Price = Rs 500

Marked Price = 1.6 * 500 = Rs 800

Selling Price = 800 - 240 = Rs 560

ratio of selling price to marked price of  the article = 560 : 800

=> 7 : 10
