Answer:

Amount of discount = Rs.160

Selling price = Rs. 1440

Cost price = Rs.1300

Explanation:

A shopkeeper marked the price of a calculator as Rs 1,600

Amount of discount = 1600×10%

=Rs.160

Selling price = 1600-160

=Rs. 1440

Cost price = 1440-140

= Rs.1300

Discount :

Calculating discount is the process of finding the reduction in the price of products or services offered by the seller at the marked price of the product. This percentage of the rebate is offered at the marked price. It is found that different sellers sell the product at different prices.  The marked price, which may be equal to or less than the MRP, is the price that the seller estimates the item will cost. Selling price is the price at which the article is sold after discount in the marked price.
