Answer:

selling price of laptop   = 29250  Rs

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say Cost Price of Laptop =  C   Rs

Marked Price = C + (40/100)C  = 1.4C  Rs

Discount offered = 21 3/7   = 150/7 %

Discount = (150/700) * 1.4C  = 0.3C

Selling Price = 1.4C - 0.3C = 1.1C

Profit = 1.1C - C = 0.1C

0.1C = 2250

=> C = 22500

Cost Price of Laptop = Rs 22500

Marked Price of Laptop = 1.4 * 22500 =  Rs 31500

if Discount would Have Been 1/3  of 150/7  = 50/7 %

Discount = (50/700) * 31500 = 2250   Rs

Selling Price = 31500 - 2250  = 29250  Rs

selling price of laptop   = 29250  Rs
