Let the original price of a cellphone is Rs.100
It marked 40% more it means it marked Rs.140 by shopkeeper; but shopkeeper give 30% discount on this marked price. So 30% of Rs 140 is 140*0.3=42. It means shopkeeper sell it on a discount of Rs 42.
The selling amount = 140-42= 98
The loss of Rs 2
It means shopkeeper bear a loss of 2%
