QUESTION :-

A shopkeeper marks his goods 25℅ above the cost price and allows a discount of 12℅ on them. What percent does he gain ?

SOLUTION :-

Let the cost be 100rs

Then marked price (MP) = 100 + 25 = 125rs

Discount percent on marked price = 12

Discount = 12/100 × 125 = 15rs

SP = MP - Discount

= 125 - 15

= 110

Gain = SP - CP

= 110 - 100

= 10rs

Gain℅ = 10/100 × 100 = 10℅

Thus, the shopkeeper gains 10℅ after discount

Let,

cost = 100/-

Mp = 100+25=125/-

Discount percentage on MP = 12

=12/100×125

=15/-

SP = MP- Discount

= 125-15

=110

Gain = SP-CP

= 110-100

=10
