Solution :

A shopkeeper marks his goods 30% above the cost price and gives a discount of 15% on the marked price.

We have to find his gain percentage .

Let the cost price of his goods( the overall price) be x inr

Marked price will be 130% of that or 130% of x

Now, there's a discount of 15% on the marked price

His final sp

>> 85% × 130% × x

>> 1.105 x

Gain Percentage

>> [ Gain/Cost price ] × 100%

>> ( 1.105 x - x)/x × 100%

>> 0.105 × 100%

>> 10.5 %

Answer : He makes a gain of 10.5% on the original cost price .

Let the cost of the product be 100 Rs.

MP=30+100=130

Discount=15%

Discount=

100

15

×130=19.5Rs

Selling Price=130−19.5=110.5Rs

Profit=SP−CP=110.5−100=10.5Rs

Gain%=

100

10.5

×100=10.5%
