Let the list price of the article be Rs. x

As per the question, goods are marked up by 10%, followed by discount of 5%.

Therefore, taxable amount =

Rs.x  (1 + \frac{10}{100} )(1 -  \frac{5}{100} ) =  Rs. \frac{209}{200} x

Given GST @ 12%

Therefore, SGST @ 6%

As per the question,

 \frac{6}{10}  \times  \frac{209}{200} x  = 1254

 \rightarrow \:  \: x = 20000

Therefore, list price = Rs. 20,000

Therefore, taxable amount = \frac{209}{200}  \times 20000 = Rs. 20,900

Also, SGST = CGST = Rs. 1254

Therefore, the final price = Rs. (20,900+1254+1254)= Rs.23,408.
