Given : A shopkeeper mixes 5 packets of 2 kg rice costing ₹25/kg and 3 packets of 5 kg rice costing ₹30/kg.

he sells the mixture at ₹35/kg,

To Find : what will be his profit percentage

Solution:

5 packets of 2 kg rice costing ₹25/kg

=> Rice = 5 x 2 = 10 kg

Cost = 25 x 10 = 250 Rs

3 packets of 5 kg rice costing ₹30/kg

=> Rice = 3 x 5 = 15 kg

Cost = 30 x 15 = 450 Rs

Total Rice = 10 + 15 = 25 kg

Total Cost = 250 + 450 = 700  Rs

sells the mixture at ₹35/kg

Total Selling price = 25 x 35  =  Rs 875

Profit = 875 - 700  = Rs 175

Profit % = (175/700) * 100 = 25 %
