A shopkeeper offers 20% off-season discount to the customers and still makes a profit of 20%. What is the cost price for the shopkeeper on a pair of shoes marked at Rs. 1500?​

Answer:

Current marked Price = 1120

Price after 10% discount = 1120–112 = 1120*.9= 1008

Even after this offer price the shopkeeper earns 26% profit over cost price.

Now new selling Price is 1008 and assume that original cost is X.

Using formula

(Selling Price - Original Cost)/ (Selling Price) = Profit

(1008 - X)/ 1008 = 26/100

After solving both sides

X = 745.92
