Given :- cost price of machine = rs 10000

            discount % = 10%

            profit % = 15%

To find :- the selling price (SP)

               the marked price (MP)

Solution:-

  • let SP be x
  • profit = SP-CP = (x-10000)
  • profit % = profit/CP * 100 = (x-10000)/10000*100 = (x-10000)/100
  • 15= (x-10000)/100
  • 15*100= x-10000
  • 1500 = x-10000
  • 1500+10000= x
  • 11500= selling price
  • marked price(MP) = discount + selling price of machine
  • the cost price of machine is the seeling price of the person from whom it is purchased
  • Discount = mp-sp = MP- 10000
  • discount % = discount/mp * 100
  • 10 = (MP-10000)/MP*100
  • 10 MP = (MP-10000)*100
  • 10 MP = 100 MP - 1000000
  • 1000000= 100MP-10MP
  • 1000000=90 MP
  • 100000/9 = MP
  • 11111.11 =MP

Answer : hence the SP is 11500 and MP is 11111.11
