Solutions :-

We have,

Cost of two cycles = Rs 3400

Cost of each cycle = Rs 3400/2 = Rs 1700

Find the Selling price of 1 cycle at a loss of 4% :-

S.P = C.P - Loss % of C.P

= 1700 - 4% of 1700

= 1700 - 0.04 × 1700

= 1700 - 68

= 1632

Again,

Find the Selling price of both cycle at overall profit of 8 % :-

S.P of both cycles = C.P of both cycles + Profit % of C.P of both the cycle

= 3400 + 8% of 3400

= 3400 + 0.08 × 3400

= 3400 + 272

= 3672

C.P of other cycle = S.P of both cycles - C.P of one cycles

= Rs (3672 - 1632)

= Rs 2040

Answer : The Other bicycle sold at Rs 2040 so that he earns an overall profit of 8%
