let MP=x

THEN SP=0.75x

CP-0.75x=125--------------1

on giving 10%discount

MP=X

SP=0.9x

0.9x-CP=250-------2

add 1 and 2

0.25x=375

x=1500

and cp=1100

Anonymous: any doubt pls comment
prernamalla8: Yes, you made a small mistake otherwise the process was correct.
prernamalla8: After adding the equations, you should have written 0.15x instead of 0.25x
prernamalla8: Please edit it
Anonymous: its not wrong its correct 0.9-0.75=0.25
Anonymous: its written 0.25
prernamalla8: I am sorry but please check it in the calculator it is 0.15 not 0.25 as 0.90-0.75
