Now 15% of unsold oranges got rotten so

The amount of fresh oranges= 40-6= 34 Kg.
Next day he sells 50% of the fresh oranges i.e 34x50%= 17 Kg
That means 17 Kg of oranges is again rotten.
So total quantity of oranges rotten is 6Kg+ 17 Kg= 23Kg.
Percentage of oranges rotten is 23x100/100= 23%
