Given:

The selling price of the tricycle = Rs. 1260

Profit earned = 40%

To Find:

The cost price of the tricycle

Solution:

Using the formula to calculate profit -

CP = SP x 100/ 100 + Profit%

Substituting the values -

CP = 1260 x 100 / 100 + 40

CP = 12600/140

CP = 900

 Answer: The selling price of the box is Rs. 900
