A shopkeeper sells an Article for ₹395 , and there by making a profit of 37.5%. What is the cost price of the Article ?

We know,

Profit % =\frac{SP-CP}{CP}\times 100

Given: SP=395

Profit =37.5%

So profit% =\frac{SP-CP}{CP}\times 100

\frac{37.5}{100}=\frac{395-CP}{CP}  \\\frac{3}{8}=\frac{395-CP}{CP}

3CP=8 \times 395-8cp

11CP=8 \times 395

CP=\frac{8\times 395}{11}

CP=287.27
