Answer:

Profit= 9.25%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : A shopkeeper sells wheat at 15% profit, but the weighing machine shows 950 grams for 1 kg.

To find : What is the % profit for shopkeeper if he sells 100 kg of wheat

Solution :

Let say wheat price per kg = Rs x

15% Profit,

\frac{15}{100}x = Rs 0.15x

Selling Price = x + 0.15x = 1.15x  Rs per kg

Sold 100 kg,

Selling price of 100 kg = 1.15x * 100 =Rs. 115x

When machine shows 950 gm then actual weight = 1000 g ( 1kg = 1000g)

When machine shows 1 gm then actual weight = \frac{1000}{950}=\frac{20}{19}

When machine show 100 kg then actual weight =\frac{20}{19}\times 100=\frac{2000}{19}

Cost Price of \frac{2000}{19}kg =\frac{2000x}{19}kg

Profit is  115x-\frac{2000x}{19}

Profit is \frac{185x}{19}

P\%=\frac{\frac{185x}{19}}{\frac{2000x}{19}}\times 100

P\%\frac{185}{20}

Profit % =9.25%
