Let the cost of 1 chair be x
Cost of 16 chairs = 16*x= 16x
Selling price of 16 chairs=Cost price of ten chairs= 10*x =10x
Therefore loss on sale= 16x-10x=6x
Percentage of loss= (loss on sale/cost price of 16 chairs) X 100
=( 6x/16x) * 100 =37.5% loss.
Cost of 16 chairs = 16*x= 16x
Selling price of 16 chairs=Cost price of ten chairs= 10*x =10x
Therefore loss on sale= 16x-10x=6x
Percentage of loss= (loss on sale/cost price of 16 chairs) X 100
=( 6x/16x) * 100 =37.5% loss.
