20

20 article = 80₹ ; 1 article = 4₹ (selling price)

profit 20%, fraction of 20% is 1/5,

means if cost price 5 unit then selling price will be (5+1 =6 unit)

here, selling price 4₹

so, 6 unit = 4₹ then 5 unit = (4×5)/6 = 20/6=10/3

means cost of 1 article = 10/3₹

we can say , 1₹ = 3/10 article

then 80₹ = (3/10)×80=24 article

he bought 24 article for 80₹

Given sp=220 and loss=12%

so, the CP = (220*100)/88 =250 Rs

now the new profit is 10% and cp is 250 Rs

and we have to find by how much amount as compared to earlier the SP will be more so as to gain profit of 10%.

so SP= (250*110)/100 =275 Rs

now increase in amount= 275–220 = 55 Rs
