Answer:

Let's figure this out.

All the eggs (x) equals 1/3 + 320 + 1/4.

Adding 1/3 + 1/4 requires finding a common denominator (12).

1/3 + 1/4 = 4+3/12 which equals 7/12

Therefore

X = 7/12 + 320

5/12x = 320

X = 320(12)/5

X = 768

Now let's test the result.

768/3 = 256

768/4 = 192

256 + 192 + 320 = 768

The answer is that you started with 768 eggs.

let no of eggs be x

now, no of eggs is sum of eggs sold and eggs remaining

so, x is equal to x/3 + 320 + x/4

so,

x = x/4 + x/3 + 320

x= 3x+4x/12 + 320

x= 7x/12 + 320

x-(7x/12)=320

12x-7x/12 =320

5x/12 =320

5x=320 x 12

x =3840/5

x=768

so,he had got 768 eggs
