a shopkeeper sold 75 pens and pencils for rs 4915 the selling price of each pen was rs 120 and that of a pencil was rs 25. find the number of pens sold

let the all the pens and pencils be taken as only pencils then selling price of all the 75 pencils be =75*25=1875

but the actual selling price is =4915

by taking all are pencils the amount of rupees is than the actual selling price i.e.1875

4915-1875=3040

here the 3040 is the amount for pens

3040/(120-25)=32
