S. P = Rs 240
P% = 12%
So, C.P =  \frac{sp \: \times 100}{100 + p}

=  \frac{240 \times 100}{100 + 12}

= \frac{240 \times 100}{112}

=  \frac{1500}{7}
Therefore, P = S.P - C.P

= 240 - 1500/7

=  \frac{1680 - 1500}{7}

= \frac{180}{7}

= 25.71

Hope it helps...!!!

Answer:

Final Answer.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Selling Price of the chair = Rs. 240

Profit percentage = 12%

Let, the Cost Price of the chair be x.

Then,

Profit = \frac{12x}{100}

and,

S.P = C.P + Profit

⇒ 240 = x + \frac{12x}{100}

⇒ 240 = \frac{112x}{100}

⇒ x = \frac{240 X 100}{112}

Therefore, the CP is Rs. 214.28.

To find,

Actual profit = SP - CP

                                    = Rs.(240 - 214.28)

                                    = Rs. 25.72

Hence, the final answer is Rs. 25.72.
