A shopkeeper sold an article at a loss of 12.5% if he sold the article for rs.100 more he would have gained 12.5% on it find the C.P of the article

chopraahaan07: Let C.P. be Rs.x.

Loss of 12.5% means S.P. of 100%−12.5%=87.5%

⇒  Then, (106%ofx)−(8721%ofx)=51.80

⇒  1821%ofx=51.80

⇒   x=3751.80×100×2=Rs.280

Answer: 280 Rs

Step-by-step explanation:

First convert 12.5% loss means div by 100 we get .125 or 1/8.

100 - loss/800-cp (multiply up down with 100).

800

12.5%. 6% profit

700. 848

diff. 148 units

148 units - 51.80

1 unit - 51.80/148

800 units -> 51.80/148 ★ 800 = 280

Rs 280 cp

Have a good day bro!
